New
rule requirement effective July 1, 2006 in Court
of Appeals, 2nd Dist.
Rules 14.5 and 56-59 now
requires that each party must serve and file a Certificate
of Interested Entities or Persons at the time it files
its first document in the Court of Appeal. Each party
must also include a copy of the certificate in its principal
brief or petition for writ. The certificate must appear
after the cover and before the tables. The Certificate
of Interested Entities or Persons is available here.

LASC
Requires Department Number on all Documents
Pursuant
to CRC 2.111(7), all documents submitted for filing in
the Los Angeles Superior Courts require the department
number and judges name on the face page. This
is a court requirement. Failure to comply may result
in a delay or rejection of your filing. For more information

Ammendment
to CCP 412.10-Court to Keep Original Summons
Effective
January 1st, 2006, per
CCP 412.10, After payment of all applicable fees,
the plaintiff may have the clerk issue one or more summons
for any defendant. The clerk shall keep each
original summons in the court records and provide
a copy of each summons issued to the plaintiff who requested
issuance of the summons.

Diego Superior Court Revises Publication Forms
San
Diego Superior Court has revised Superior Court forms
available for distribution in its business offices. The
revised forms may be used immediately and will be required
as of September 1, 2005, at which time previous versions
will no longer be accepted for filing. The revised forms
are SDSC Form # CIV-048,

7-05)and SDSC Form # CIV
-049 ORDER FOR PUBLICATION OF SUMMONS/CITATION (REV 7-05).

New
Requirements for Service for Ventura Summons and
complaint
Effective
July 1st, 2005, pursuant to Ventura County Superior Court
Local Rule 24.03, the form, Voluntary
Early Civil Mediation Questionnaire (VN-183), must
be served with the summons and complaint, in any civil
lawsuit filed after July 1st, 2005.

United
States Bankruptcy Court To Require Electronic Filing
Effective
June 1st, 2005, as specified in paragraph 19 of Second
Amended General Order 02-01, attorneys, who manually
file documents capable of being filed electronically
in five or more bankruptcy cases and/or adversary proceedings
in a single calendar year must thereafter use eFile, the
Court's electronic filing system.
The
Court will monitor compliance with this requirement.
Failure to comply with the electronic filing requirement
may result in an Order to Show Cause why sanctions
or other consequences should not be imposed. Documents
currently capable of being electronically filed include:
Voluntary Chapter 7 Petitions, Chapter 13 Petitions,
Relief From Stay Motions, and Complaints.
This
General Order also incorporates current practices as
new paragraphs 17 and 18, and improves clarity. Second
Amended General Order 02-01 can be viewed on the Court's
web site, www.cacb.uscourts.gov,
under the Notices & General Order section.

Notice
of Fee Increase for Recordings
Effective
Tuesday, March 1st, 2005, Janney and Janney Attorney
Service will increase the base service charge for all
routine recording and filing of documents, research,
and obtaining copies in the L.A. County Recorders
Office. The current fee of $10 will be increased
to $20.
Document
Preparation Fee for L.A. County Recorders Office
Effective
Monday, July 1, 2006, Janney and Janney Attorney Service
will increase the $10.00 document preparation fee to
$20.00 for any assignments submitted for recording without
a complete title page and/or the required supplemental
